Susan was a neighbor of mine starting in 5th grade.   I enjoyed talking with her at previous reunions, recalling old childhood memories in our neighborhood.

Susan worked at WalMart in Wenatchee for several years.  She worked right on through her chemotherapy, checking while sitting on a stool.  Whenever I'd go through her line she would bring me up to date on everyone from our class that had come through.  One day she said "I don't know what's going on with our class, we're all dropping like flies"!  I found it amusing at the time but of course it happens.  I hope that we are all enjoying good health and making the most of our "golden years".

I adored Suzie...she was always so warm and friendly.  I would always stop at Wal-Mart whenever I went to Wenatchee just to see her and catch up on the local news.  After my parent's home was sold, she would always let me change into my professional clothes at the store in the employees area when I was on my way to a conference or whatever. She was one of my heroes--she fought cancer with such class and dignity and I miss her. (She always walked to and from school with me and Margaret).
